intotheclouds

Fluffy and soft and bright: welcome to the Cloud Factory. High in the sky clouds sit above us, out of reach and all alone, but Claud has a plan. Far away and high on a hill, they’ve built their very own cloud factory, but need your help to make their fluffy dreams come true.

intotheclouds is a playful, sensory and highly visual experience for very young children and babies (aged 6-18 months and 19-36 months) developed in partnership with the NHS’s Small Steps Big Changes and over 50 babies and their families across Nottingham. Performed inside a custom-built sensory box, intotheclouds is an incredible first-time theatre experience, that’s suitable for any space (no theatre required) and also adaptable for older children with sensory needs with integrated Makaton throughout.

Production History

intotheclouds was originally created in 2018 and has toured regularly since then to a large range of venues from Local Libraries to Galleries and large-scale venues like Warwick Arts Centre, Cambridge Junction, Derby Theatre & The Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall. We have also produced immersive installation versions of the show for The Royal Opera House and also created a Christmas production: intothesnowclouds.

Availability

intotheclouds is available for touring across the UK and abroad throughout 2022 and 2023 in any of the format so the production produced to date, in order to fit within venues' early-years offering, available space and length of run.

Technical Information

intotheclouds is an incredibly flexible performance that is suitable to a wide range of venues and technical set-ups.

For theatre spaces and studios, the production is presented end-on, with audience seated on cushions and mats on the floor. When touring to non-theatre spaces, Nonsuch Studios can create a fully immersive theatre space for up to 20 pairs of adult + baby, which simply plugs into standard wall sockets.
