Nonsuch Studios is one of the boldest and most exciting arts organisations in the East Midlands. In just 12 years we’ve grown from a small graduate theatre company to a unique and strategically important theatre and community project producer and arts charity.
We believe that CREATIVITY IS POWER and work across all our programmes to inspire cultural freedom through unlocking creativity and celebrating life.
In 2024 we moved out of our venue-based home to return to our roots as a touring, producing and community focussed organisation, and we’re really excited by what this change has meant for us.
To further enable us to deliver our projects and programmes to the highest level and ensure we are the best organisation we can we, we’re looking for committed and skilled individuals to join our Charity’s Board of Trustees.
To be effective, Nonsuch Studios needs to understand a wide range of practices, sectors and perspectives. We are committed to maintaining a diverse Board which is regularly refreshed through a transparent and inclusive approach. Recruitment for our board members is on a rolling basis but we would like to recruit a number of new Trustees with specific experiences to support our work.
Please note Trustees are voluntary roles and receive no payment besides allowable expenses. This is a legal requirement of the role.
Benefits of joining the Nonsuch Studios Board include:
Whilst we welcome applications from all backgrounds, in order to ensure our board has the expertise we need to thrive, we are particularly interested in hearing from those with the following skills and experience:
To apply to be a member of our board of trustees, please download the recruitment pack via the link above to read key information about the legal requirements, eligibility and roles a Trustee fulfills.
Applications are received via a written expression of interest. Expressions of interest should be made by emailed letter, highlighting what skills and attributes you can bring to the role as well as any key experiences you bring as a professional or stakeholder (as noted above). You should demonstrate your experience in any similar role, as well as your reasons for wishing to become a Board member of The Nonsuch Theatre Ltd. We would also ask you submit a PDF CV alongside your expression of interest. You do not have to have been a Trustee before in order to apply, however due to the level of responsbility, there are limited seats for 'new' trustees.
For an informal discussion about the roles, please contact Edward Boott, Artistic Director & CEO via hello@wearenonsuch.com with TRUSTEE ENQUIRY in the subject line.
Expressions of interest should be sent to: jobs@wearenonsuch.com with TRUSTEE APPLICATION in the subject box.
For this round of Trustee recruitment there is an indicative deadline of 10am on Friday 21st February, 2025.
